I suck at setting and finishing goals. I always either go crazy over bored and create too many complicated goals or none at all. There can’t be an in between, for me any way. I go back and forth between setting crazy high goals so I need to push myself and adding things to my To-Do list just to cross them off. One thing I have recently realized I don’t give myself enough credit for is all of the things I actually accomplish every day. So this year instead of setting unrealistic goals I am going to scale back a bit.
I love writing and really wanted this blog to be an outlet to my everyday life/craziness. I found one excuse after another not to write. Another great excuse I told myself is that I’d do it later. I don’t know why I tell myself this almost every damn day but later comes and I never feel like doing anything. I told myself last week that since I didn’t have to work on Friday’s I could stay up late and bust something out. This busy mom is exhausted by Wednesday so that ended up being a pretty dumb idea. This week I’ve recommitted to Wednesdays. My older daughter is in gymnastics and my younger is watching TV on my phone. I might not get mother of the year award for this, but it’s the only free time I can consistently carve out.
So far week 1 has been a success and it’s not even 2019 yet. This won’t be my longest post because my computer is about to die, poor look ahead on my part, but it’s done. I hope you take a minute to look at your goals and decide if they are really something you want to do. Pick one or two that mean the most to you and schedule some time to knock them out. I promise you’ll feel so much better when you do.
If you need some help being held accountable shoot me an email and I can definitely check in with you from time to time and see what progress you’ve made.
